Dan Adams Hickman, 91, died Wednesday, October 16, 1992, in his home in Snowville of causes incident to age.
He was born December 19, 1899, in Snowville, a son of Warren Wade and Barbara Jane Woodland Hickman.
He married Ada Wright, May 5, 1926, in the Salt Lake Temple. She died January 18, 1984.
Mr. Hickman was educated in Snowville and Ogden, and had also lived in Stone, Idaho and Tremonton.
He was a former/rancher in Snowville where he had served as mayor. He had worked with the Extension Services for years, taking the weather daily. He had served on the Box Elder County Welfare Board for 35 years and as Box Elder County Tax Assessor; he assisted the County Surveyor in layout of sections in Snowville, and was president of Snowville Water Company.
He was an active member of the Curlew LDS Ward, serving in the past as bishop for 13 years, Mutual president in the Curlew Stake, and High Priest President in the Bear River Stake. He had served an LDS mission to England for 2 ½ years.
Surviving are two daughters, Joan Hickman Heyder, Snowville, Margaret E. Plum, Sandy, Utah; one son, Warren Walter Hickman Littleton, Colorado; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; 1 brother, William Hickman, Read’s Port, Oregon. He was preceded in death by one son, four sisters, two brothers.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 19, 1 p.m. in the Curlew Ward Chapel, Snowville, with Bishop Michael J. Morgan, Officiating. Burial was in the Snowville Cemetery.
