Alta Pack Hickman

SNOWVILLE, UTAH – Alta Pack Hickman, 92, of Snowville, Utah, died Wednesday, October 1, 1986, at the home of her daughter in Hurricane, Utah.

She was born December 26, 1893, in Deseret, Utah, the daughter of Erastus Frederick and Lucinda Eliza Moody Pack. She married Warren Earl Hickman September 13, 1917 in the Salt Lake Temple.  He died May 8, 1974.

She was reared and educated in Hinkley, at the BYU Academy in Provo, Utah, and at the Albion Academy where she received her teacher’s certificate. She taught school in Stone, Idaho, for one year and lived there for 57 years before moving to Snowville in 1974.

She was a member of the Curlew LDS Ward, serving in the past as primary president, ward and stake MIA president, relief society president, and taught in every auxiliary in the church.

Survivors include one son and two daughters, Blaine Earl Pack, Rawlings Wyoming; Mrs. Elden L. (Barbara) Daley, Hurricane, Utah; Mrs. Stuart R. (Veda) Rankin, Corvallis, Oregon; 14 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 4, in the Curlew LDS Ward with Bishop C. Lyle Arbon officiating. Burial was in the Snowville Cemetery
