Orlin Ervin Hess

Orlin Ervin Hess, 86, passed away Sunday, October 11, 1998, at Canyon Lake, California, following a battle with cancer.

He was born August 16, 1912, in Plymouth, Utah to Ervin Hess and Zella Agnes (Nish) Hess, the oldest of nine children. He graduated from Bear River High School in Garland, Utah. He married Myrle Evans of Malad, Idaho, 66 years ago. He was a plumbing contractor by trade, retiring in 1976.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many positions, including that of Family History Coordinator and a temple missionary. He held the position of High priest at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Myrle, of Canyon Lake, California; three sons: Ronald J. (Arleen) Hess, Salt Lake City, Utah; Wesley Orlin (Carol Nan) Hess, Long Beach, California; Terryl Evans (Pat) Hess, Murrieta, California; three brothers, Lamar “N” Hess, Deverre “N” Hess and Cleon “N” Hess; and one sister, Mary Claire Hess; 16 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel Kyle Hess; three brothers: Gerald Robert Hess, Lowell Jay Hess, and Ellis Hess; and a sister, Verna Agnes Hess.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, October 17, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, 34350 Almond, Wildomar, California.

Friends may call from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Valley Funeral Home, Friday evening, October 16, or beginning at 9:30 a.m. prior to the services on Saturday. Burial will be at Plymouth, Utah at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20.
