Ila M. Hess

Ila M. Hess, 74, died Tuesday, February 16, 1993 in Pocatello, (Idaho) from an apparent heart attack.

She was born October 18, 1918 in Goshen to David and Elva Sibbetts Landon. She received her education at Upper Presto on Idaho, and Portage Grade School and Bear River High School in Utah.

She was a member of the LDS Church.

She was married three times: to John Hans Knudsen, Melvin “Mike” Wakley and Charles “Chick” Hess all of whom are deceased.

She spent her working years as a waitress. She worked at the Dude Ranch Cafe in Malad, the Highway Cafe in Downey, the City Cafe and Stan’s Grill in Blackfoot, and the last at the Yellowstone Cafe in Pocatello,(Idaho) where she retired.

After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her friends. Many hours were spent going for walks, playing cards and dining out with friends. Her alone hours were spent playing solitaire and crocheting afghans, booties and other such items for her friends and family while watching her favorite television programs.
