Lela grew up on the ranch in Daniels during the summer, coming down to live in town when school started. She graduated from Malad High School in 1943. She married her high school sweetheart, Ken Blaisdell. They were married December 7, 1944 in Pocatello Idaho at the home of a cousin in a double wedding with their best friends, Ralph and Beth Davis.

Lela and Ken were later sealed in the Logan Utah LDS temple. Lela was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and loved serving any calling she was given. She studied the scriptures diligently and spent her life serving others.

Family was very important to Lela. She loved any family gatherings. She loved her children beyond measure but the grandchildren were the true light of her life. She had endless patience for her grandchildren and truly enjoyed their company.

Lela developed many talents during her life. She could sew well, she loved to make quilts and she made leather crafted items. She loved candy and is remembered for candy making skills and her dedication to keeping yard and flowers pretty.

Lela and Ken both loved Cottonwood and took their children there often. Some of our fondest memories were made there.

Lela enjoyed working in town and enjoyed many years as the Farm Bureau secretary. Her true calling was as a wife and mother. She was devoted to her family and home on the ranch.

Ken passed away on December 26, 1993 in Malad Idaho at the age of 68. Lela later married Reed Henderson at her home in Malad, Idaho on January 20 of 1995. Lela and Reed spent over 20 happy years together. Reed passed away on June 6, 2017.
