Gary Lee “Hum” Haviland

GRACE- Gary Lee “Hum” Haviland, 59, of Grace, passed away Sunday, December 8, 1996 at Pocatello Regional Medical Center.

He was born June 8, 1937 at Malad, Idaho, the son of Leander Frederick “Sage” and Leona Smith Haviland. He was reared and educated in North Ogden, Utah, and graduated from Weber High School. He later moved to Paradise, Utah , and then on to Grace, Idaho, where he ranched, and for the past 15 years he was employed at Dravo Co. as an operator.

He was married to Mary Ann Cole on November 14, 1958. They were later divorced. He was married to Colleen Noble on December 11, 1987.

He was an elder in the Grace LDS Second Ward. He like to hunt, fish, and camp with his family and friends. He also enjoyed golf, pool and darts.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Colleen, of Grace; four sons and one daughter and their spouses, Rick and Susan Haviland, Sandy, Utah, Tracy and Elyse Haviland, Layton, Utah, Cory and Eileen Haviland, Brigham City, Utah, Kelly and Wendy Haviland, Walnut, California, and Angela Haviland, Logan, Utah; also three stepchildren, David and Lynette Jessop, Cindy and Kim Spencer, Kelly and Theresa Noble, of of Grace; one brother and two sisters, Gerald and Judy Haviland, Avon, Utah, Florence and Don Bybee, Hyrum, Utah, Margie Lynn Haviland, North Ogden, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 13, 1996 at 1 p.m. at the Grace LDS Stake Center in Grace, Idaho. Friends may call on Thursday evening, Dec. 12, 1996, at the Sims Funeral Home from 7 p.m to 8 p.m., and on Friday at the stake center from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery.
