Morgan Wilford Harris

Morgan Wilford Harris 85, of Woodruff, Idaho died Wednesday at his home. He was born January 14, 1900 in Woodruff, Idaho a son of Robert Wilford and Eunice Ann Ward Harris. He grew up and attended school in Woodruff and Malad, and later attended the Utah State Agricultural College in Logan. He married Mary Ann Deschamps November 14, 1923, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He lived his entire life in Woodruff, and operated his farm there until recently.

He was a member of the LDS Church and had held several positions, including Elders Quorum President, Sunday School Superintendent, Counselor in the Bishopric and later served as the Bishop of the Cherry Creek Ward. He was a board member of the Utah Poultry Growers and a member of the Samaria Grazing Association.

He is survived by his wife of Woodruff; two sons, Morgan D. Harris, L Vegas, Nevada; David Robert Harris, Woodruff; three daughters, Mrs. Reed (Shelba) Blaisdell, Caldwell, Idaho; Mrs. WD. (LaRue) Briggs, Annadale, Virginia; Mrs. Glenn (Helen) Tanner, Boulder, Colorado. Seventeen grandchildren and twenty-six great grand-children; one brother, George Ellis Harris, Woodruff.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Delene Parry, who died in 1985.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the Cherry Creek LDS Ward Chapel, with Bishop Owen Ward, officiating. Burial was in the Portage Cemetery.
