Delta Arbon Harmon

Delta Arbon Harmon, 84, of Provo, died Tuesday, September 15, 1987, at her home in Provo following a long illness.
She was born November 1, 1902 in Pleasantview, Oneida County, Idaho, to Joseph Nicholas and Elizabeth Davis Arbon. She married Carlyle Harmon March 22, 1929 in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
When she was two weeks old she was taken out to Arbon, Idaho in a wagon to her future home. She lived with her parents on the farm until she was 10 years old. Her grandfather wanted to live in Malad but had no one to care for him, so she was given the opportunity to live in the new home and be his housekeeper. She attended grade school in Arbon for a few months of that year, then attended school in Malad for the rest of the term. She was a graduate of Malad High School in 1924.
From 1925-27 she filled a mission for the LDS Church to California. It was while she was in California that she met her future husband. She has lived in Wausau, Wisconsin; Longmeadow, Massachusetts; Scotch Plains, New Jersey; and the last 16 years in Provo, Utah. Her hobbies were needlepoint, rug hooking, ceramics and other hand work.
She was a member of the LDS Church and filled many positions in the Relief Society, Sunday School and the Primary.
She is survived by her husband of Provo; one daughter, one son: Mrs. John (Norma) May, Edina, Minnesota; David Harmon, Los Angeles, California; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers: Joseph G. Arbon, Pocatello, Idaho, and Harold D. Arbon, Salinas, California, currently serving an LDS mission in Portland, Oregon.
Services were Friday at the Provo 27th Ward LDS Chapel. Burial was in the Provo City Cemetery
