William Andrew Hamilton

MALAD – William Andrew Hamilton, 83, 85 South 100 West, Malad, died Wednesday, August 3, in Pocatello.
He was born July 7, 1905, in Stearns, Kentucky, to Calvin Dean Gunther and Seanie Loucinda Worley Hamilton. He was reared and educated in the Cumberland Mountain area in Kentucky and Tennessee.
He married Bonnie Bell. They were later divorced.
He served in World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He married Elva Kent Hamilton. Following their marriage, they lived in various cities in California, where he worked as a journeyman carpenter. In 1966 they moved to Malad. Mrs. Hamilton died in 1968.
He is survived by three sons, Calvin Dean Jessie Hamilton and James Gunther Hamilton, both of Malad, and Forrest Timberlane Hamilton. Salt Lake City; two daughters, Mrs. Brent (Tami Jean) Bennett, Logan, Utah, and Carol sue Thompson, Fontana, California; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, John Hamilton, Oakland, California;, and four sisters, Ruth Love, Riverside, California; Mary LaMore, Burbank, California, Taffy Haynes, Tucson, Arizona, and Esther Lewis, Santa Maria, California. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held Saturday in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad with Bishop Frank Gunnell officiating. Burial was in St. John Cemetery with military rites accorded by the Ernest W. Jones Post No. 65.
