Douglas S. Burton

OGDEN — Douglas S. Burton, 87, of Ogden, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1992, at St. Benedict’s Hospital.

He was born July 4, 1904, in Bountiful, Utah, a son of William J. and Mary Simpson Burton.
He was reared and educated in Downey, Idaho.
He married Tressi Randall. The marriage was later solemnized on Sep. 12, 1936, in the Logan LDS Temple.
He was a car salesman for over 60 years and held the oldest active car salesman’s license in Utah.
Mr. Burton was a member of the Ogden LDS 27th Ward and also a member of the B.P.O. Elks #719.
He enjoyed growing flowers, especially roses. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and loved his dog.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who dearly love him.
Surviving are his son, Harvey Dopp of Ogden; one granddaughter, Kathy Lowe, and one great granddaughter, Susie Lowe.
Also surviving are two brothers, Donald S. Burton and Elward Burton, both of Downey, Idaho; three sisters, Elizabeth Hooker of Providence, Utah; Pearl Bybee of Downey, Idaho; and Marion Draper of Malad, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother and four sisters.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Leavitt’s Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836 36th St.
Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
