A. A. Sorensen Dies Saturday
Funeral services were Monday for Ammon A. Sorensen, 74, who died Saturday at the Oneida Hospital after a lingering illness.
Mr. Sorensen was a retired farmer, having homesteaded in Arbon Valley. He was active in the LDS Church and was president of the Gospel doctrine class of the Fourth Ward at the time of his death. He was a High Priest; had been bishop of the Summit Ward, Curlew Stake, for seven years; member of the High Council in Curlew and Malad Stake for many years; member of the Sunday school stake board and presidency of the stake High Priest Quorum; a ward teacher and served on the church building committee at the Washakie Indian reservation.
He was born Dec. 26, 1883 at Mendon, Utah, to Jacob F. and Susan Hancock Sorensen. He received his education there and at Brigham Young College, Logan. He married Cora Hardman on March 23, 1910, in the Logan LDS Temple.
Survivors include the widow; a son, Peirce, Malad; three daughters, Mrs. Warren (Verda) Thomas, Mrs. Fred (Norma) Gleed, Malad; Mrs. Milton (Gladys) Nelson, Provo; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, Franklin E. Sorensen, Logan; Chauncey L. Sorensen, Ogden; Claud A. Sorensen, Mendon; Mrs. Andrew (Minnie) Cooley, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Vance (Ethel) Walker, Mendon.
