Pauline Hyer Buehler

Our mother, Pauline Hyer Buehler, 79, died on November 8, 2003 at home in Malad, ID of natural causes. She was born on September 19, 1924 in Lewiston, Cache County, Utah to Saul Edward and Gladys Ledingham Hyer.

Pauline attended elementary school in Lewiston, UT and high school at North Cache. She met her mate, Charles Buehler, in a hiking class at Utah State University. They were married on June 20, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple.

She and Charlie were successful wheat farmers and cattle ranchers in Daniels Valley, ID. This is where they raised their children.

Pauline loved the gospel and served faithfully in the LDS church. She served as an organist, playing into her 80th year. She was a gospel scholar and taught Gospel Doctrine and Relief Society lessons for many years. She and Charlie served a stake mission and loved attending the temple. Recently she received great satisfaction doing extraction in the Family History Center.

She used her talents to serve others. She enjoyed sewing and other handiwork; making hundreds of knit caps for the Humanitarian Center. Pauline was an accomplished pianist, playing in recitals as a young woman. She was a life long accompanist and played the piano for the residents of the Oneida County Nursing Home. She greatly enjoyed cooking for her family.

She is survived by her children: Marilyn Johnson (Jim), Don Charles (Debbie), Janice Palmer (Stan), Lois Willie (Randy), Carol Atkinson (Brad) and Charlene Red Thunder (Randy).
