Memorial service for Dr. Ralph M. Ray was held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 29, 1985, in Finley’s Sunset Hills Chapel. Interment was private in Sunset Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Dr. Ray died Thursday, August 26, 1985, at his home. He was 74.

Dr. Ray was born August 8, 1911, in Pocatello, Idaho, the son of Dr. Fred and Rachel Jones Ray, former residents of Malad, Idaho.

He moved to Portland in 1943 and started a private practice as a general practioner[sic] in Northeast Portland.

He retired from his practice in 1982, he was a member of the Oregon Medical Association, the International College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association and the Alpha Theta Omega Fraternity. He was a graduate of the University of Oregon and the University of Colorado Medical School.

He is survived by his wife, Blanche, of Portland; a daughter, Thelma Rueppell of Portland; two sons, William D. of Louisville, Colorado, and Ralph M. of Las Vegas, Nevada; a niece, whom he raised, Carol White of Milwaukie, Oregon; a sister, Helen Ray Madden of San Francisco, California, and seven grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the University of Colorado Medical Center, Colfax and Colorado Boulevard, Denver 80200.
