MALAD-Eliza Thomas Ward McDowell, 87, former Ogden resident, died Friday, March 17, 1995, in Malad.

She was born Jan. 20, 1908, in Malad, a daughter of David Morgan and Ella Elizabeth Lilly Thomas.

She was raised and educated in Malad. She married John Clesmer Ward, Jan. 6, 1930, and they lived in Malad and Snowville, Utah, where they farmed and ranched.

For several years she worked for the First National Bank in Malad. Mr. Ward died Feb. 9, 1956. She later married Enoch (Kelly) Shuda Oct. 20, 1973. and they lived in Odgen.

He died July 23, 1977. On Oct. 8 1980, she married David McDowell. He died Dec. 24, 1990. Since 1991, she has resided in Malad.

She is survived by one daughter, Janice Cooper of Yuma, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ada Lusk of Malad; one brother David M. and Norma Thomas of Garland, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; one son John C. Ward Jr.; one brother, Melvin Thomas; two sisters, Edith Deschambeau and Sarah Palmer.

Funeral services will be held Monday, march 20, at noon in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. Malad, where friends may call on Monday one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
