MILLS, REX ROSELL, November 3, 1924 – March 19, 2006

Rex Rosell Mills, 81, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2006 in Malad, Idaho. He was born November 3, 1924 to Fredrick Rex and Lettie Lyle Rose Mills in Malad, Idaho.

At the age of 17, Rosell’s father passed away making him responsible for the family farm. He has been a successful farmer. He started a hobby of raising registered Black Angus cattle 45 years ago which turned into a profitable business. He is a life-time member of the American Angus Assoc.

Rosell married his lifetime sweetheart, Elaine Dredge on July 19, 1945 in the Logan Temple. They are parents of five children, 28 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

Rosell served in the LDS Church as Malad Stake Mission President, High Councilman, Missionary and Varsity Scout Leader. He also served in his ward as Sunday School Counselor and MIA Counselor and as an ordinance worker in the St. George LDS Temple. Rosell and Elaine served a mission in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was president of the Oneida County School Board, president of the Fifth District Trustee Assoc, member of the Oneida County Fair Board and FHA Board.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine D. Mills, Malad, Idaho; children: David Rex (Elaine) Mills, malad, Idaho; Julie Ann (Mac) Atkinson, Fort Hall, Idaho; Peggy Elaine (Steve) Taylor, Kuna, Idaho; Mary Sue (Ron) Gubler, Orem, Utah; Kathryn jean (Ken) Schmidt, Tooele, Utah; sister, Flora Evans, Garden Grove, California; and sister-in-law Jeanine Mills, Sacramento, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Deverl, brother-in-law, Bill Evans and grandchildren, Sherie Mills and Jeffrey Taylor.

Services were held on Wednesday, march 22, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Malad LDS Stake Chapel. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
