Funeral Monday For Mrs. Grace D. May
Funeral services for Mrs. Grace May, 50, who died at the Oneida Hospital Thursday, December 6, 1951 after a short illness, were held in the Malad Second ward chapel Monday at 1 p.m. with Bishop Golden Willie in charge.
Mrs. S.A. Hendricks played the prelude and postlude and accompanied the musical numbers; Bishop John Roderick offered the prayer at the home. Ralph Harding, invocation; Dean Harrison, benediction and Parry Harrison dedicated the grave. The speakers were W.W. Thomas, J.M. Isaacson and Claude Wenegren. The musical numbers consisted of duet, Wanda Napier and Faye Hanson, solos, Leora Brown and Thos. Jones.
Mrs. May was born at Malad, March 16, 1901, a daughter of Zephaniah and Isabell Izatt Davis. She was educated in the Malad schools and lived her life in Malad Valley.
She was married to Robert M. May, June 4, 1917. Mr. May died February 20, 1949.
Mrs. May was a member of the LDS church and was active in Relief Society work.
She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Isabell Davis, Malad; four sons and four daughters; Mrs. Mabel Tufts, Layton, Utah; Thomas J. May and Mrs. Helen Nelson of Salt Lake City; Ira A. May, Brigham City; Donald L. May, Ogden; Joseph R. May, Wanda May, Shirley May, Malad City; and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers and a sister; Mrs. Norval Moss of Salt Lake City,; Samuel T. Davis and Lester M. Davis , Malad.
Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery directed by the Malad funeral service.
