Malad Man Dies in Salt Lake City

Vern Archibald 57, died in the Veterans Hospital at Salt Lake City, Tuesday morning, June 19, 1956, after an illness of two years. He had been confined to the hospital for eight weeks.

Mr. Archibald was born at St. John in 1898, a son of Willard and Laura Bigler Archibald. Reared and educated in Oneida country, he also received mechanical training at Kansas City. Mr. Archibald, a member of the LDS Church, married Elsie Case, March 17, 1944, at Pocatello. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his widow, two step-sons and four step-daughters: his mother, Mrs. Laura Archibald, Pocatello, seven brothers and one sister: Lee Archibald, Willard Archibald, Mrs. Isabelle Andrus, DeVere Archibald, Arnold Archibald, Chester Archibald, all of Pocatello; Bruce Archibald, Moab, Utah; Warren Archibald, Pocatello.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 22, 1956, at 1 p.m. In the Malad Second ward with Bishop Myron Sorenson officiating. Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home Thursday evening and Friday until time of services. Interment will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
