Maree Lowe Greenwell, 55, died September 6, 2000 of complications of Multiple Myeloma. She was born October 5, 1944 in Malad, Idaho, to James M. and Ruby Bennett Lowe. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School in Ogden in 1962.
She married Kenneth C. Greenwell on May 3, 1963 in Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized April 23, 1964 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
To this union were born 3 sons and 3 daughters. Ken and Maree lived in West Weber for 22 years. Maree was very active in the West Weber Elementary School where she directed the children’s choir for 8 years. The family moved to American Fork in July, 1985, Maree worked at the Mount Timpanogos Temple, which she loved.
During construction of this temple, one of the artisans showed her how to apply the gold leafing, and then allowed her to do the gold leafing in one of the ceiling corners. It was while she was working at the temple that she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.
Her thanks go to Dr. Tudor and his staff for their tender care and the compassion she received. The family wishes to thank Hospice for Utah for their care and support during the last months of her life. At the time of her death, Maree was serving a Church Service Mission at the Mount Timpanogos Beehive Clothing retail store. That calling was a great joy in her life. She served in the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society organizations of the LDS Church. Surviving are her husband of American Fork, her children Susan (Robert) Molenaar, North Ogden; Steven K. Greenwell, Roy; Erin ( Janice) Greenwell, SLC; Lynn (James ) Campos, Cedar City; Kathryn Greenwell, Provo; Kevin K. (Eryn) Greenwell, American Fork; her father, James M Lowe, Ogden; 2 hero brothers, J. Allen (Joanne) Lowe, Logan; Arlin (Joyce) Lowe, Ogden; 2 beloved sisters, Karen (Dean) Henderson, Kathy ( Kent) Archibald, both of Ogden, and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 11, at 10 a.m. in the American Fork 12th Ward Chapel, 700 E. 300 N. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 N., American Fork, and on Monday one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in the West Weber Cemetery.
