KARLA SHOWELL JOHNSON

Karla Showell Johnson – my sweetheart, angel and the mother of my children is gone! After suffering for many years with a debilitating disease, Karla left this mortal world on November 4, 2011 to be relieved of her pain and anguish and embraced by her Savior and her Heavenly Father.

Karla was born September 10, 1964 in Brigham City, Utah to Jess R. and Marilyn H. Showell. She was a true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ in every way and was loved by all who knew her. She always put others before herself and had an infectious laugh and smile that would bring the brightest light into one’s darkest moments. Karla loved all of heavenly Father’s creations. Most of all, she loved her family with all of her heart. She never said one ill thing of anyone. All things to Karla were the Lord’s way of showing his mercy and love.

Karla was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many positions in the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women organizations.

Karla graduated from Malad High School in 1982 and then graduated from Utah State University in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. In 1983, Karla married Rodney L. Johnson of Hyde Park, Utah in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for time and all eternity.

Karla was the youngest of five children. She is survived by her husband, Rodney L. Johnson, Kaysville, UT; their three children; Amber, Lance and Ashlyn Johnson; her parents, Jess R. and Marilyn Showell, Stone, ID; her brother David (Patricia) Showell, Stone, ID; and sisters LuAnn (Nolan) Branch, Malta, ID; and Carolyn (Tony) Gillies, Lyman, WY. She was preceded in death by her brother Mark Showell.

There was a viewing on November 9th at the Lindquist Mortuary. A celebration of her life will be held November 10th at the Lower Mutton Hollow LDS chapel in Kaysville, UT. There will be a brief viewing before the funeral from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. interment will be in the Kaysville City Cemetery.
