EVANS, MARIEMMA, July 13, 1920 – February 25, 1990
Mariemma Evans, 69, longtime Malad resident, died February 25, 1990 in Burley, Idaho. She was born July 13, 1920 in Malad, a daughter of David and Margaret Thomas Evans. She was reared and educated in Malad and a graduate of Malad High School at age 15.
She attended the University of Idaho, Southern Branch, received her BA degree in Business Administration from University of Utah. She later received a masters degree from Stanford University in 1945. She had worked in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Salt Lake, returning to Malad in 1952, and has since worked for the family business, Evans Co-op Department Store.
She was past Board Director of Ireland Banking Company and was currently director and secretary of the board of the D.L. Evans Bank in Burley. She was also director and secretary of the Evans Co-op Company and D.L. Evans Farm, Inc.
She was a loving sister and was very dedicated to the family.
She had attended the Presbyterian Church in Malad, was a member of Acacia Chapter #69 Order of Eastern Star and member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by three brothers, Roland T. Evans, California; former Idaho Governor John V. Evans, Burley and Don S. Evans, Malad; 33 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday in the Malad LDS stake chapel with Rev. S. Norman Naugler officiating. Burial in the Malad City Cemetery.
