
Dora Wakley Evans, 17 June 1916
ARIMO – Dora Wakley Evans, 85, of Arimo, passed away January 29,2002 in a local care facility. She was born June 17, 1916 in Downey, ID, a daughter of George and Ellen Barnes Wakley. She grew up and was educated in Woodland (near Downey), and as a young girl worked on the family farm there.
She married James Dean Evans on December 28, 1935 in Arimo.
Dora and Jim had farmed and ranched in the Arimo area for many years, and Mr. Evans passed away in 1988. Dora enjoyed the outdoors, attending the local dances and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by one daughter and three sons, Jolene (Marlin) Bowman of Pocatello; John D. (Sandra) Evans of Arimo; Terry (Charlotte) Evans of Arimo; 15 grandchildren; one sister, Nellie Nieffenegger of Malad.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held February 2, 2002 in the Arimo LDS Ward Chapel. Burial will be in the Arimo City Cemetery.
