Emery C. Atkinson

On June 17, 1946, he married Mary Marble in the Logan Temple. He was an active member of the L.D.S.Church , Roy 5th Ward, where he served faithfully. He retired at 30 years from Hill Airforce Base as a Tool and Dye Machinist. He was a loving father and grandfather and brought joy into all the lives he touched. His life was one of love and service to others. One of his favorite sayings was “Be good until I tell you different.” He was very proud of his family. He will be deeply missed by all.

Surviving are a son: Emery Delon Atkinson (Colleen), North Ogden, Utah; three daughters: Mary Ellen Syrett (Rick), Ogden, Utah; Sharrie Diane Blaylock (Danny), Washington Terrace, Utah; Tamra Baker (Rex), Layton, Utah, and 23 grandchildren.

He was a brother to Arlene Hamberlin (Victor), Washington Terrace, Utah; Verlene Illum, Blackfoot, Idaho; Carol Atkinson, Fresno, California; Dale Atkinson (Ruth Ann), Garland, Utah; Don Atkinson (Sue), Malad, Idaho; brother-in-law to Glen Marble (Sandy), Hyrum, Utah; Afton Lewis (Tom), Malad, Idaho; Ruby Scott (David), Quartzsite, Arizona; Charley Ray Marble, Malad, Idaho; Bert R. Marble (Karen), Pleasantview, Idaho; Norman Marble (Merrilee) Provo, Utah; and Ruth Ann Zaugg (Lee), Texas.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, December 2, 1998, the Roy 5th Ward Chapel. Interment was at the Roy City Cemetery.
