Edrie Ellen Allen Kingsbury

LAYTON – Edrie Ellen Allen Kingsbury, 80, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 5, 2001, at her home. She was born January 9, 1921, in Swan Lake, Idaho, a daughter of Aram Poulsen and Lucy May Kofoed Allen. She married Calvin Haight Kingsbury in Malad, Idaho. He passed away October 3, 1976.
Edrie was a first-grade teacher at South Clearfield Elementary School. She taught school for over 30 years. She graduated from Downey High School in 1938. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Utah State University.
Edrie had lived in North Farmington for 14 years and Layton, Utah the past 31 years.
She was a member of the Lay ton 17th LDS Ward, taught Cultural Refinement lessons in Relief Society, served as Stake Sunday School Secretary, extracted genealogy, and served as a visiting teacher, and attended the temple regularly.
She enjoyed latch-hooking rug for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, genealogy, needlepoint, cross-stitch, knitting, quilting and gardening.
Surviving are her daughter, LaRaine (Jim) Pearson, Clinton; daughter-in-law, Betty Joan Kingsbury, Bountiful; seven grandchildren, Debbie McCune, David Hall, Brian Kingsbury, Calvin Hall, Michael Kingsbury, Brandan Hall and Brady Hall. Ten great-grandchildren. Two sisters, LaRue Lenmon, Clearfield and Rhea Luc Allen (Hank) Shay, Kearns.
She was preceded in death t her husband and one son, Allen Calvin Kingsbury, her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 201 at the Layton 17th Ward, 12! North Church. Family and friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary 1867 North Fairfield Road, and Tuesday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.
Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
