Funeral Tuesday For Mrs. Budge

Mrs. Winifred McKay Budge, 64, died Saturday (13 June 1953) at the Oneida County Hospital of a heart ailment. Mrs. Budge had been ill for a week.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Malad Third Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Jesse Hughes officiating.

The prayer at the home was by Lawrence Corbridge; the invocation by J. Peter Jensen and the benediction by William H. Rutter. The speakers were Bishop Hughes, James B. Jones and Arthur Budge. Mrs. Pauline Atkinson played the prelude and the postlude. A vocal duet was sung by Gwen and June Ward and a vocal solo was sung by Jenkin Jones.

The dedicatorial prayer at the cemetery was by Hubert Gleed.

Born December 27, 1888 at Malad, a daughter of Joseph and Sarah Ann Jenkins McKay, Mrs. Budge was reared and educated at Malad and was a lifelong member of the LDS Church. She was married to T. Francis Budge in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on December 18, 1912 and they have since resided in Malad. She was a teacher in the Malad First Ward Relief Society and the Mutual Improvement Association. Prior to her death she was active in the Malad Third ward Relief Society as a visiting teacher. Mrs. Budge was a member of the War Mothers of America, Oneida county chapter and also a member of the Native Daughters of Idaho Pioneers.

Surviving are her husband of Malad, three sons, T. Morgan Budge, Pocatello; Keith M. Budge, LaJolla, California; Khalil M. Budge, Van Nuys, California; two daughters, Mrs. Dixon (Donna) Woodbury, Salt Lake City and Mrs. John W. (Lou Jean) Kemp, Salt Lake; one sister, Mrs. Eugene Dalton, McCammon, Idaho and 10 grandchildren.

Interment was in the Malad City cemetery with the Benson Funeral Home in charge.
