William Wesley Brodie

Bill was born in Brigham City, Utah on May 11, 1953, the 8th child and 2nd son of Charles Wesley Brodie and Estella Roberts Brodie. He attended first grade in Malad, Idaho. The family moved to Pocatello in 1960. Bill attended Jefferson Elementary, Irving Junior High and Pocatello High School. He joined the Army in 1971 and was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany.

Bill married Susan Hulet in 1983. They had two children, Alicia Charlene and Charles Wesley (Wes). They were later divorced.

Bill loved his children and was very proud of them. He was so happy when his first grandchild, Skylar, arrive in October, 2010. He was happily anticipating the arrival of Wes’s first child this month, but his illness took him before he was able to meet her.

Bill is survived by his two children, Alicia (Chris) Dorris and Wesley (Jamie), and his grandson Skylar. He had ten siblings, of which six survive; Kathleen (Kathy) Hansen, Billings, MT; Charlene (Charli) Shaw, Boise, ID; Joyce (Ron) Klein, Pocatello, ID; James (Jim) Brodie, Key West, FL; Brenda (Lloyd) Mathews, Pocatello, ID; and Tamra Snitselaar, Sioux City, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Connie Jensen, Muriel Merrick, Janeal Brodie, and Douglas (Doug) Brodie.

Bill will be remembered for his easy going nature. He loved a good joke and wasn’t afraid to laugh at himself on occasion. Of Bill’s life accomplishments, his children were far and above his dearest.

Thanks to the Safe haven staff for their love and caring, and thanks to the Veteran’s volunteers who helped make his life a little brighter.

Per Bill’s wishes, he was cremated. A fathering in Bill’s memory will be hosted by a family member on November 19, 2011. A graveside memorial will take place sometime in the spring.
