Vonda Maxine Price Myler

Vonda Maxine Price Myler passed away Friday, Feb 25th, 2011 at the Downey Care Center in Downey, Idaho. Vonda was the 6th born child of Roy and Edith Price. She was born on May 20, 1921 in West Jordan, Utah. Vonda was raised and attended school in West Jordan as well. It was in Utah at a dance that she met the love of her life, John A. Myler. After a short engagement, they were married on May 5, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in Salt Lake City Utah. After their marriage, they moved to the family farm in Arbon Valley, Idaho. It was here that they started their family. They later moved to Arco, Idaho where John continued to farm and ranch. In 1956, the family moved to Arimo, Idaho where they lived out the rest of their lives farming and raising their family. John and Vonda were married for 36 years before John passed away on Feb 14, 1979. During her lifetime, Vonda was an active member of the LDS church. Over the years she served in many callings in all the organizations of the church. Vonda loved being with her children and grandchildren. They were truly the joy of her life. Her hobbies included, cooking, baking, (especially homemade bread) quilting and sewing. One of her greatest qualities was her ability to care for others. Friends, neighbors, and family will always remember her for her willingness to provide care and assistance to others during difficult times of their lives.

Vonda is survived by her 4 sons and 1 daughter, Gordon, (Jackie) Myler of Downata Hot Springs, Idaho, Don (Nancy) Myler of Boise, Idaho, Dean (Kathie) Myler of Roseburg, Oregon, Steve (Karen) Myler of Inkom, Idaho, and Carol (Kevin) Beebe of Inkom, Idaho. She is also survived by her 24 grandchildren, 46 great grand children, and 1 great great grandchild, as well as a sister, Janice Egbert of Lewiston, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John A Myler, 2 infant sons, Aaron Roy and Max E, her parents, Roy and Edith Price, 3 brothers, Leslie, Burdette, and Keith, and 7 sisters, Melva, Afton, Charlotte, Ella, Elsa, Rhea, and Lois.

Her family would like to extend our thanks to neighbors, friends, family, and the wonderful staff at the Downey Care Center in Downey, Idaho. A special thanks also to the good people of Alliance Home Heath and Hospice for their loving and kind care during her time of need. Thanks also to the caring Doctors, Nurses, and staff at the Portneuf Regional Medical Center for their concern and care during a very difficult time. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 1, 2011 at 12 noon in the Arimo LDS Stake Chapel. Friends may visit with the Myler family on Tuesday at the church prior to services from 10:30-11:45 am. Burial will follow in Mountainview the Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral.
