Vodis L. Wallwork Barth

NORTH OGDEN – Vodis L. Wallwork Barth, 84, died January 22, 2002 at a local care center of causes incident to age.

She was born August 26, 1917 in Stone, ID, a daughter of Andrew Crompton and Ruth Olive Buck Wallwork.

On October 25, 1939, Vodis married George Allyn Barth in the Salt lake LDS Temple. Allyn preceded her in death on May 28, 1986.

She graduated from Ogden High School and Stevens Henager Business College.

Vodis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, North Ogden 1st Ward. She was active in Relief Society and was a visiting teacher. She served in the Primary presidency and was a longtime name extractor for temple work. She loved to attend the temple.

She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers “Old Ben North Company” camp. She loved sewing, quilting, cooking, reading and spending time with her family. Vodis made quilts for all of her great grandchildren each Christmas for many years.

Surviving are one son and three daughters: Lynn Allyn (Marilyn) Barth, Ogden; JoAnn (Dave) Roberts, Syracuse; Janet (Reese) Barker, North Ogden; Cheryl (Paul) Harmer, Glenwood, UT; 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Also surviving is one brother, Dean (Barbara) Wallwork, South Ogden.

Vodis is preceded in death by two brothers, Clay and Doyle Wallwork, and two sisters, Ila W. Tippets and Flora W. Patrick.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at the North Ogden Stake Center with Bishop Dee L. Johnson of the North Ogden 1st Ward officiating. Interment, North Ogden Cemetery.
