Our Dear Mother has not left us alone. She has simply entered the next phase of her journey, assuring those of us who will love and miss her, a light to focus on as we continue our own journey.
Marie enjoyed many things over the span of her life. Her first passion was dance and she prided herself in teaching ballet and dance for nearly 13 years. She enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, riding the range, etc., Marie also loved books and reading everything from love-silly novels to history to learning all she could about any subject. She enjoyed gardening and had many wonderful gardens over her lifetime. Her favorite, an Iris garden, which was one acre in size, she tended by hand.
The biggest passion in her life was her children and grandchildren. Marie is survived by daughters: Sharyn (Brad) Harmon, Tami Lorraine Sherwood, Laurie Ann (Russell) Wright, Tina Marie (Barry) Botton; and two brothers: Charles “Sonney” Tooley and Lawrence “Larry” Tooley.
Marie was preceded in death by parents, husband and one sister. Also by three children, Bruce Edward Steele, and babies, Donney and Margaret.
Graveside services were held Saturday, January 10, at noon at the Samaria Cemetery.
