Funeral services held for Vilet Zundel
Vilet Elizabeth Zundel, 79, died Wednesday, July 25, following an illness.
She was born Feb. 23, 1900, at Malad, to Nephi and Sarah Jane Williams Lewis, was raised at Malad and graduated from Malad High School.
On April 20, 1921, she married Dwight H. Zundel in the Logan LDS Temple and they came to Pocatello in 1930.
Mrs. Zundel was an active member of the LDS Church and had served in various capacities including a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years; junior Sunday School coordinator; and Primary President. She was an organist and held many positions in the Relief Society and enjoyed sewing, traveling, flowers and music.
Survivors include her husband, Pocatello; five sons, Dwight L. and Reed D., both of Pocatello; Voyd L., Corvallis, Mont.; Earl D., Alameda, Calif.; and Wayne L., Nampa; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Elaine) Nelson, Pocatello; 22 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sons, William, Nephi, Glenn and Erwin; three brothers, Nephi, Hyrum and William Lewis; and a sister, Sarah Thomas.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 28, in the LDS Ninth Ward Chapel at Pocatello with Bishop Archie Stoddard officiating. Burial was in the St. John Cemetery.
