Vernon Odell Bunderson

PLAIN CITY – Vernon Odell Bunderson, 75, passed away September 4, 2004 at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. He was born August 17, 1929 in Stone, Idaho, a son of William Rudolph and Lucy Irene Roe Bunderson. He married Reta Fay Dustman on January 13, 1950. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on August 24, 1950.

He was a member of the Plain City 5th Ward where he was a High Priest and was a temple worker. He had been employed by the LDS Church.

He was a founding member of the Freedom Riders.

Surviving is his wife, Reta; children, Marvin (Kathy) Bunderson, Brigham City; Susan (Arell) Christensen, Fruit Heights; Valene (Eldon) White, Olathe, Kansas; Debbie (Rick) Burnett, North Ogden; Joy (Brad) Nelson, Warren; David (Rachel) Bunderson, Plain City; 24 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Nona Knighton, Lloyd Bunderson, Delpha Rudd, Cleo Bunderson and Hal Bunderson.

He was preceded in death by a son Darell Vernon; one granddaughter, one great-grandson and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at the Plain City Stake Center with Bishop Gary Thompson officiating. Interment, Deweyville Cemetery.
