Verl Nish Udy, (d. 1965)

Funeral services were held Monday at Ogden for Verlin Nish Udy, 39, who was killed Friday afternoon on a Hill AFB road when an empty oil trailer broke loose from its cab and crashed into his station wagon.

Also injured in the accident were four passengers in Mr. Udy’s car, Richard Marvene Tanner, 41; Charles Harold Cobia, 38; Roscoe Call, 47; Edwin Wyatt Jones, 64, all of Ogden.

Services for Mr. Udy were held at the Lindquist Mortuary in Ogden and burial was at the Plymouth Cemetery where military honors were accorded by the firing squad and color guard of the Ernest W. Jones Post of the American Legion.

A civilian employee at Hill Air Force Base, Mr. Udy was married to the former Elizabeth Kent, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kent, Malad.

Among the survivors are his widow; four daughters, Delpha, 16; Verlene, 14; Joan, 11; Lorie, four, all of Ogden; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Udy.
