Velda and Joe lived in Malad, Idaho, all their married lives. Joe passed away in May 1996. Velda was a wonderful Licensed Practical Nurse at the Oneida County Hospital for 26 years, where she went on to become Head of Medical Records for many more years.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served as Primary and Relief Society teachers, Relief Society president, and was a member of the Stake Boards for Primary, MIA, and Relief Society. She was always more concerned with others than herself. She loved to spend time with family, especially on Thanksgiving. She enjoyed reading, playing games, embroidery, and doing puzzles.
