Valerie King Dayton

Downey, Idaho…..On April 3, 2019 our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Valerie King Dayton, 63 passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home. Valerie was born on August 12, 1955 in Ogden, Utah to Barbara & Jean King. She was raised in Eden, Utah and was a graduate of Weber High. Growing up, Valerie was active in Job’s Daughters and her community. In 2000 Valerie was married to the love of her life Doug Dayton, who later died in 2004. She loved him dearly and has now joined him. Valerie was retired and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. If she met you, she considered you her friend. Valerie had a passion for life and lived it to its fullest. Her last few years in Downey, Valerie was active in the Lions Club and other community activities. She is survived by her 3 children: Jennifer (Bret) Felter of Malad, ID; Ted Conway of Akron, Ohio; Lisa Mecham (Kevin Galindo) Wasilla, Alaska along with 5 surviving grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 brothers; Edward (Janet) King; Lamont King; Jeff King and multiple nieces and great nieces and great nephews. Valerie was preceded in death by her husband Doug, her parents Barbara and Jean King; a brother Douglas; and a grandson Teddy. A viewing will be held on Monday, August 8, 2019 from 7-8pm in Malad, Idaho at the Horsley Funeral Home at 132 W 300 N. Another viewing will be held Tuesday August 9 at 12’oclock noon at Leavitt’s Funeral Home in Ogden, Utah at 836 36th St, with the funeral starting at 1:00 p.m. and burial to follow. Friends and Family are invited to attend any and all services. In lieu of flowers, we as a family as that you donate to any Animal Shelter of your choice in her name.
