Former resident, Thorold Peabody, passed away Sunday morning, September 20, 1998, at the home of his daughter, Elaine P. Collard, in Baker, Oregon, of complications following gall bladder surgery.
Thorold was born September 24, 1912, in Malad [Idaho] to Martha Jones and Jacob Peabody. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth H. Pingel.
He is survived by a son, Thorold Jacob Peabody, and a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Collard, both of Baker, Oregon; two sisters: Mrs. Rosetta P. Pingel of Malad, and Mrs. Sylvia P. Shaffer of West Valley, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
The funeral was postponed because of illness in the family. Funeral services were held Monday, September 28, in Baker, Oregon. Burial was in Granite, Oregon, where he lived.
