Thomas Walter Jones

Thomas Walter Jones, 89 years old, of 204 W. Highway 38, Malad, Idaho, died on Tuesday , Oct 26, 1993.

He was born Dec. 18, 1903, in St. John, Idaho, a son of George W. and Lillian Parry Jones. he married Verga Zundel on Dec. 21, 1933, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were later divorced. On Jan 3, 1969, he married Betty Leonard of Twin Falls, Idaho.

He attended school in St. John and Malad City. He was a member of the LDS Church. He was a member of the Lions Club, a lifetime member of the National Cattlemen’s Association, as well as the Idaho Cattlemen’s Association. He served on the Oneida County Hospital board, the Malad Valley Water Board, Soil Conservation Board, and Pleasantview Cattlemen’s Association board.

He was a retired cattleman and rancher living in Malad City all of his life.

He is survived by his widow, Betty, of Malad; one daughter, Mrs. Lowell(Vera J.) Davis as well as one stepdaughter, Grace Williams; and three grandsons, Kelly, Kurt, and Ray Davis; and seven great grandchildren. He also is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Zeph Jones of Pocatello, Idaho, and Ralph D Jones of Malad; Mrs. John (Lillian) Leavitt, Malad, and Mrs. Elmer (Edith) Ward, Arbon, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters, and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 30, 1993, at noon in the stake building, with Bishop Jared Crowther officiating. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in
Malad on Friday, Oct 29, 1993, from 7p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Malad City Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions may be given to your favorite charity.
