Services held in Utah for victim of train-car crash

SPRINGVILLE, Utah – Funeral services for Thomas Dallas Archibald, 29, Springville, were held Saturday afternoon in the Berg Mortuary.

Mr. Archibald died Feb. 16, 1978, at Utah Valley Hospital of injuries received in an auto-train accident between Springville and Orem.

He was born Oct. 27, 1948, in Malad to Bruce and Marjorie Ruth Thomas Archibald. He married Paula Lindsay on Oct. 25, 1968 in Springville.

Mr. Archibald attended Moab City schools and Utah Technical College at Provo, where he studied aviation instrumentation. He worked at Flexline Upholstery Co. before opening his own shop. He also worked for Interwest Construction Co. for two years and at Mid Valley for the past two months.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and had been active in track and other sports.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Travis Bruce Archibald; Springville; parents, Moab; one brother, Devon Archibald, Denver; a twin sister Mrs. Tess (Tonya) Limas, Houston, Texas.

Those from Malad attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hess, Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Thomas, Mrs. Wilorie Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gleed, Robert Hess.
