Theodore “Ted” Daniel Loomis

Theodore “Ted” Daniel Loomis, 68, of Malad, died Tuesday in the Oneida County Hospital. He was born February 2, 1925, in Bellingham, Washington, a son of Earl F. and Margaret N. Archey Loomis, and was later educated in Montana and Oregon. He joined the Army during WW II, and served three years. He married Helen L. Ipsen March 14, 1959 in Ukiah, California. Since their marriage they have lived in several areas including California, Oregon, and Idaho, where Mr. Loomis has been in the logging business.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was also a member of the Loggers Association.

Survivors include his wife Helen of Malad; one son and wife; Ted and Judy Loomis, Nevada City, California, two stepsons and spouses; Paul and Dani Anderson, Visalia California; Lewis and Barbara Anderson, Jacksonville, North Carolina; three daughters and spouses; Mary Ann and Kim Wakley, Lesia June and Kevin Smith, Linda Leda and Craig Jones, all of Malad. Twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three Brothers, Steve Loomis, Prescott, Arizona; Albert Loomis, Cottonwood, Arizona, Earl Loomis, Sacramento, California; two sisters; Gladys Miller and June Wooley, both of Ukiah, California. He is also survived by his mother Margaret Loomis of Ukiah, California. He was proceeded in death by his father and one son.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May7, at 12 noon in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home with Bishop Rex Robbins officiating. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery, with Military rites accorded by the American Legion, Ernest W. Jones Post #65.
