Stanton LaMar Yearsley

SWAN LAKE – Stanton LaMar Yearsley, 85, of Swan Lake passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at his home. He was born December 14, 1929, in Woodruff, Idaho, a son of Calvin James and Margaret Atkinson Yearsley. He was raised in Marsh Center and attended school in Downey. He married Glenna Joy Morrison on May 29, 1948, in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple December 8, 1952. He lived in Swan Lake married for 54 years and spent the last 14 years alone when Joy passed away on December 24, 2001. He was a mechanic in Preston for 25 years, hard-working farmer, generous man who had a quick wit and was loved by all. He enjoyed bowling, all sports, and giving of his time and talents to family and friends. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by 3 sons, Gary (Wanda) Yearsley of Arimo; Eugene (Connie) Yearsley of Preston; Bret (Ann) Yearsley of Downey; 3 daughters, Hope (Gerald) Kelley of Chubbuck; Karen Fagnant of Swan Lake; Delise Herem of Centerville, UT; 27 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Lyle (Gay) Yearsley; 1 sister, Ruth Ann (Dick) Thompson of Soda Springs. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, 1 brother, Leon Yearsley, and 1 sister, Vida Byington. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015, at 12:00 noon in the Downey LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may visit with the family at Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral Home, 570 N Meadowview Dr., Arimo on Thursday, August 20, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
