Died Monday 14 September 1953 at his home of a heart attack.
He was born 27 December 1883 at Hyrum, Utah. He was the son of S. Frank and Rebecca Osborn Allen. Lived in Pocatello Valley since 1909. Dry Farmer. Married Sarah Darley, 8 Oct 1908 in the Salt Lake Temple Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Active in the church. President of the Wheatland Branch 1916 – 1923. High Councilman Malad Stake at death. Three missions Central, Northern, Norwestern states. Group leader of Malad Third Ward high priests at time of death.
Survivors: Widow, daughter, three sons. Mrs. Harry (Pollie) Fitch, Rexburg; S. Franklin, Spokane, Washington; Darley J., Sunnyside, Wash.; Earl Grant, Malad; 10 grandchildren; one brother, two sisters. Alma, Hyrum, Utah; Mrs. Zina Andrus, Rexburg; Mrs. Nellie Maughan, Southgate, California; a half-brother and two sisters.
Funeral Thursday 1:30 p.m. Malad Third Ward Chapel. Family requests no flowers but friends may contribute to Primary Children’s Hospital.

Funeral Today for Spencer F. Allen

Died Monday 14 September 1953. Funeral services for Spencer F. Allen 69, 243 N. 200 W. Malad, who died at his home Monday of a heart ailment, will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. In the Malad LDS Third Ward chapel. Bishop Jesse Hughes will be in charge.
Interment will be in the Hyrum, Utah cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.
Mr. Allen was born Dec. 27, 1886 at Hyrum, Utah, a son of Simeon Franklin Allen and Rebecca Stanley Osborn Allen. He was reared and educated in Hyrum and in Canada near Cardston. Mr. Allen also attended Brigham Young College at Logan for three years. He was married to Sara Darley, Oct. 8, 1908 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. A Pocatello Valley farmer since 1908, he and his family had made their home in Malad for the past 30 years. Mr. Allen, a High Priest in the Malad LDS Third ward was presiding elder at the Wheatland Branch, Pocatello Valley from 1916 until 1923 and also served as a Pocatello Valley school trustee.
He is survived by his widow, Malad; three sons and one daughter; Mrs. Pollie Fitch, Rexburg, Idaho; Spencer Frank Allen, Spokane, Washington; Darley J. Allen, Sunnyside, Wash; Earl Grant Allen, Malad; 10 grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters: Alvin and Alma Allen, Mrs Luella Wright, all of Hyrum, Utah; Mrs. Jennie Israelson, Logan; Mrs. Zina Andrus, Rexburg; Mrs. Nellie Maughan, South Gate, Calif.
