Sarah Geraldine Barnes McNee “Geri” Our beloved mom, grandma, great grandma and friend passed away August 21, 2017 at the age of 81. Geri was born December 30, 1935 in Malad, Idaho to Melba H. and Delbert O. Barnes. She is survived by her children, Lloyd Dell and Ladonna McNee of Sutherland, Nebraska; Larry Everett and Debbie McNee of Preston, Idaho; Logan B. and Cindy McNee of Malad, Idaho; LeAnne McNee and Mike Perkins of Soda Springs, Idaho; and Everett Layne and Yolanda McNee of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho; and her dearly loved 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband Everett Ralph McNee, her mother Melba Hughes and father Delbert O. Barnes. Geri lived the majority of her life in Downey, Idaho where she grew up on the family farm. She graduated from Downey High School in 1954 and was involved in many school activities. On December 30th 1955 Geri married Everett Ralph McNee. Together they reared their five children and raised them on the family farm. As a member of the LDS church she grew a real love for her Heavenly Father. She received her temple endowments on October 28,2000. Then on December 30,2000 they had their marriage solemnized in the Ogden, Utah temple. Geri worked many jobs throughout the years these included working at Jack’s Café, Preston Livestock Auction, Presto Products, Running the Downey Theatre and she concluded her career at the Railroad Credit Union in Pocatello, Idaho. Geri loved serving the young women’s and as a 4H leader and getting involved in all the sport activities. She was best known for her many years working on the family farm fulfilling many duties. She was best known for her cooking for the hay hauling crews among anyone one else, friends and family alike, who might show up to help but they mostly wanted to be fed with her cooking. Going to see her on the farm was always a memorable experience because she loved all her farm animals from chickens, cats, dogs, horses, geese and cattle, she taught you how to take care of them. She always planted a garden in the spring where everyone enjoyed fresh fruits and vegetables she had patiently grown. Geri loved trips with her grandchildren, especially to Island Park, Yellowstone, and Jackson Hole to name a few. Geri will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. She was loved by anyone who had the opportunity to meet her. A Viewing for Geri will be held at the Downey, Idaho LDS church on Sunday the 27th of August from 7 to 9 p.m. and funeral services will be on Monday August 28th at 12 p.m. with a viewing beforehand from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Brady’s Plant Ranch will be happy to take flower orders 208-897-5206.
