Sarah Apgood, 86, died here Thursday

Mrs. Sarah Dudley Apgood, age 86, died Thursday (6 Mar 1975), at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Frank Allen, in Malad.

Mrs. Apgood was born at Cherry Creek on March 11, 1888, a daughter of Joseph W. and Sarah Jane Jenkins Dudley. She was married to Frank Leslie Apgood, Nov. 10, 1910, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Apgood died Feb. 17, 1950.

Mrs. Apgood had taught school at Cherry Creek, and lived in Ogden the past several years. She had been an active member of the LDS Church.

Survivors include four sons and two daughters: W. Dudley, Idaho Falls; Pharen M., Salt Lake City; F. Delwyn, Clarkston, Utah; J. Wenzel, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Frank (Duluth) Allen, Malad; Gerane Apgood, Ogden, Utah; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral was conducted Tuesday (March 11, 1975 – 1:00 P.M.) in the Benson Funeral Home.

Bishop Robert E. Higginson officiated and was a speaker. Other speakers were Larry D. Apgood, Bishop Darrell Swartz and Peggy A. Johnson, who gave the obituary. Invocation was offered by George A. Palmer; benediction, Stanley D. Johnson; family prayer, J. Wenzel Apgood. Vocal selections were presented by C. Clarence Clarke and Barbara Evans Apgood. Accompanists were Elma Clarke and Pearl Stuart, who also played prelude and postlude music.

At Malad City Cemetery dedicatory prayer was offered by S. Frank Allen.

Grandchildren and members of the Ogden Fourth Ward Relief Society carried flowers.

Casket bearers were Tim Apgood, Mark Apgood, Garth Apgood, DeWight Apgood, Larry Apgood and Lynn Montague.
