Sarabelle Hughes Vaughan

MALAD — Sarabelle Hughes Vaughan, 78, 604 N. 100 W. Malad, died Thursday at her home after a long illness.

She was born Sept. 13, 1904, in Malad, to James R. and Elizabeth Jones Hughes. She grew up and received her education in Malad and was a graduate of Malad High School. She received a teaching certificate from Idaho State College and later taught school for four years in Pocatello Valley, west of Malad. She married Dale Vaughan April 29, 1927, in Ogden, Utah. She has been a lifetime resident of Malad. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in the M.I.A. program and also worked in the Sunday school. She enjoyed genealogical work and was skilled at all types of handwork.

Survivors include her husband, Malad; a son, Mark Don Vaughan, Dublin, Calif.; five grandchildren; and a brother, Daniel Hughes, Malad. She was preceded in death by one son, a sister and two brothers.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad where friends may call Sunday evening and Monday prior to the service. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.

MALAD, Idaho – Mrs. Sarabelle Hughes Vaughan, 78, of Malad, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1962, at her home following a long illness.

She was born Sept. 13, 1904, in Malad, a daughter of James R. and Elizabeth Jones Hughes.

She married Dale Vaughan on April 29, 1927, in Ogden.

She was reared and educated in Malad, graduating from Malad High School.

She received a teaching certificate and taught in the public schools in Pocatello Valley, west of Malad.

She had been a lifetime resident of Malad.

She was a member of the LDS Church where she served in the MIA and Sunday School.

Surviving are her husband of Malad, one son, Mark Don Vaughan, Dublin, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one brother, Daniel Hughes, Malad.
