Services Friday For Mrs. Sara D. Allen
Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Darley Allen, age 79, who died Tuesday (Oct. 4, 1966) at an Idaho Falls nursing home following a long illness, will be conducted Friday at 12 noon in the Malad Fourth Ward LDS Chapel with Counselor Elden Archibald officiating.
She was born November 28, 1886, at Wellsville, Cache, Utah, a daughter of John T. and Polly Ann Gunnell Darley.
She was married to Spencer F. Allen October 8, 1908 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They made their home at Pocatello Valley, later moving to Malad in 1923. Mr. Allen died Sept. 14, 1953.
Mrs. Allen received her education in the Wellsville schools and was a graduate of Brigham Young College at Logan, qualifying as a school teacher. She was an active member of the LDS Church and was a Relief Society Stake Board first counselor, a Relief Society visiting teacher and was active in genealogical work. She was a former member of the War Mothers and the Ladies Literary Club.
Survivors include three sons and one daughter: S. Frank Allen and Earl G. Allen, both of Malad; Darley J. Allen, Sunnyside, Wash. And Mrs. Pollie A. Fitch, Rexburg; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother and two sisters: William G. Darley and Mrs. Myron (Evelyn) Brenchley both of Wellsville, Utah and Mrs. Afton (Pearl) Bird, Mendon, Utah. Two children preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home Thursday evening and Friday prior to services. Burial will be in the Hyrum, Utah City cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sara D. Allen, 79, who died Oct. 4th were held Friday at the Malad LDS Fourth Ward with Counselor Elden G. Archibald officiating.
At the funeral home the family prayer was offered by Angus Stocking. At the services the prelude and postlude music was played by Mrs. Olive Fredrickson; invocation, J. A. Servoss; vocal duet, June Crowther and Norma Gleed; obituary, Dr. Richard Allen; organ solo, Bonnie Murray; talk, S. A. Hendricks; vocal duet, Opal Peck and Wanda Napier; remarks, Elden G. Archibald; benediction, H. Ward Thomas, Mrs. Myra Jean John was the accompanist.
Concluding rites were at the Hyrum, Utah City Cemetery. Flowers were carried by the Fourth Ward LDS Ward Relief Society.
Casket bearers were grandsons of Mrs. Allen: Earl Spencer Allen, Richard Allen, John Allen, Steven Allen, Clair Fitch and Allen Fitch.
