Ruth Thomas

Ruth Thomas, former Malad resident and wife of former Malad City Mayor Seth Thomas, passed away August 11, 2015.
Ruth was born February 20, 1923, in Oakland, California, to Arthur Cooper and Edna (Beaver) Christman.
She graduated from Freemont High School in 1941 and attended Holy Names College for two years as a nursing student.
She married Seth Thomas January 9, 1945, in Ogden, Utah. They lived in Oakland while Seth attended UC Berkeley, and later in Logan, Utah, while Seth pursued a master’s degree at Utah State. They relocated to Sacramento, California, raising a family until Seth’s retirement. Ruth and Seth then moved back to the family home on Main Street in Malad (next to the American Legion Building) where they resided for 25 years. They relocated to Bow, Washington, in 2002. Seth passed away in September 2013.
Ruth is survived by a son, Robert (Victoria)Thomas of Bow, Washington; daughter, Julia J Thomas of Bow, Washington; son, Timothy (Christine) Thomas and granddaughter Sydney of Portland, Oregon; and great-granddaughters Phoenix and Llyra Roe of Sedro Woolley, Washington.
