Ruth Cole

Ruth Cole, 97, of Arimo, passed away Monday, January 10, 2011, following a short illness.

She was born July 24, 1913 at Moreland, Idaho, to Simmons Franklin Hatch and Tressia Laura England. The family moved to Bannock Valley, then to Dairy Creek and finally to the Garden Creek area while Ruth was very young.

Ruth attended school in Arimo. After completing high school she attended nurses training in Idaho Falls where she received her Registered Nursing degree. She enjoyed a long career as a surgical nurse and cared for many patients at the Marsh Valley Hospital in Downey.

Ruth married Royal Cole November 7,1934, in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home and raised their family in Arimo where they farmed and ranched. Ruth very much enjoyed the winter months spent in St. George, Utah.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. She held many teaching and leadership positions. She and Royal served as officiators in the Logan Temple for eight years.

Ruth enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, dancing, and many other activities. She was especially happy when surrounded by family and their activities.

Ruth is survived by her children; Harvey Cole, (Kathy), St. George, UT, Tressia Price, (Dale) Three Forks, MT, and Bonnie Christiansen, (Modell) Arimo Idaho; 18 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren

Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 15, 2011 at 12 noon in the Arimo LDS Stake Chapel. Friends may visit with the Cole family on Saturday at the church from 10:00-11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Perpetual Education Fund or the Missionary fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
