Ruth Anderson Byington

LAYTON – Ruth Anderson Byington, age 73, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 1998, in the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born February 25, 1925 in Downey, Idaho, the daughter of Lehi Roy and Larana Kendall Anderson. She married Chauncey E. Byington October 26, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passed away April 13, 1979.

Ruth was reared and educated in Moreland, Idaho and had resided in Layton for the past 40 years. She was a member of the Layton LDS 13th Ward, and enjoyed doing genealogy. Her family was the center of her life and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her eight children: Roy S. (Trudy) Byington, Logan; Calvin E. (Rebecca) Byington, Moreland, Idaho; Don L. (Cheryl) Byington. West Haven, Utah; Lynn J. (Claudia) Byington, Roy, Utah; Gene R. (Mickey) Byington, Clearfield, Utah; Judy (Charles) Troyer, San Antonio, Texas; Doris (Albert, Jr.) Leikis, Spring Branch, Texas; Peggy (George) Taylor, Layton, Utah; 28 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers and three sisters, Dale, Ray, Max, Bill, Lila, May, and Joy, all of Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chauncey; three sisters, two brothers, and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, 1998, at 11 a.m. at the Layton, Utah West LDS Stake Center, 1715 West 1600 North.

Friends and family may call Friday at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday at the Stake Center from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, Ogden, Utah.
