Ronnie J. Price
MALAD – Ronald “Ronnie” Jones Price, 74, longtime Malad resident, passed away on May 30, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family.
Ronnie was born in Malad October 8, 1934, to Josiah and Beatrice Smith Jones Price, and was the youngest of 12 children. He graduated from Malad High School, class of 1952.
On April 1, 1955, he married his eternal companion and best friend, Elda Mae Williams, also of Malad, in the Logan LDS Temple. He worked in many areas of sales which included Wonder Bread, Amoco Oil Company, Thiokol and retired from Autolive in 1993 because of medical problems.
Over the years his love and faith called him to serve in many church callings, his testimony was true and strong. His life gave him many trials and tribulations, and he was lovingly referred to as “Job,” but even those did not slow him down. His drive for independence kept him using his handyman skills both for himself and others. His humor was a memorable quality to all who knew him, even to the end. His family was the most important love of his life. You never saw him without his wife or you could find him on the front row of any activity his kids or grandkids were in. Now he has the best seat of all. We are and were lucky to have him cheering us on.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Elda Mae, of Malad; daughter, Ronda (Brett) Catmull of South Jordan, Utah; son, Burke (Wendy) Price of Syracuse, Utah; six grandchildren, Colby (Camie), Whitney and Brooks Catmull, Jeremy, Ashley and T.J. Price.; three great-grandchildren, Kortney, Conner and Carlee and one more on the way; a sister, Shirley Fry of Brigham City, Utah; and a brother, Marion (Roberta) Price of Malad. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009, at noon in the Malad LDS Fifth Ward Chapel, 100 W. 20 S. Friends may visit with the Price family on Thursday evening, June 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. in Malad, and on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the Price family at www.horsleyfuneralhome.com.
