Roger Larry Goddard

Pocatello…..Roger Larry Goddard, 63, former Malad resident, passed away on March 29, 2009, at the Portneuf Medical Center, following a sudden illness. he was born July 22, 1945, in Malad, a son of Leland and Florence Hanson Goddard. He grew up, and was educated in Malad and was a graduate of Malad High School class of 1963. He later attended Idaho State University and Colorado State University. On July 31, 1970, he married Tamara Thomas in Malad, and they have resided in Pocatello, where Roger has worked for the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 2006 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church. Roger was an avid hunter, bowler and trap-shooter. He was an eternal optimist, even though living with diabetes most of his life. He is survived by his wife Tamara of Pocatello; a son; Clint Goddard of Pocatello (born in 1974) brothers; Jim (Donna) of Malad; Ken Goddard of Bountiful, Utah a sister; Linda (Don) Gilbert of Elko, Nevada. sister-in-law; Janice Goddard of Malad and brother-in-law; Dave Thomas of Pocatello. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Richard and his in-laws. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral Home 132 W. 300 N. Malad, with Bishop Michael Williams, officiating. Friends may visit with the Goddard family on Friday evening from 6-8 pm and on Saturday prior to service from 10:30-11:30 am. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery
