Robinson Tex Luthi

McCammon, Idaho…Robinson Tex Luthi, 86, longtime Marsh Valley resident, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013, following a long illness. Tex was born on February 21, 1927, in Star Valley in the town of Freedom, Id., son of John Luthi Jr. and Hazel Robinson. He graduated from Afton, WY in the class of 1944. At 17, his mother signed for him to join the Navy and was assigned to a light cruiser during WWII. He attended Utah State University where he received a degree in Geology. He married Jessie Marie Palmer, from Kirkland, NM, on March 3, 1952. They were blessed with two girls, Janette Marie and Sulane. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Clara Fike in 1987 in Dallas, TX. He retired as ranch manager for a church farm in 1994. After retirement, he moved back to his home state of Idaho. Tex was kind and had a great sense of humor, often teasing everyone he met. He is survived by his wife, Clara of McCammon, ID, daughter Janette (Greg) Hunsaker of McCammon, ID, step-daughters Cindy White of Forney, TX and Kathleen Murray of Crandall, TX, 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and a brother, Dick Luthi of Freedom, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jessie, his daughter Sulane, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 11 am in the McCammon LDS Stake Center. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10:00-10:45 am prior to the services. Burial will be in the Freedom, Idaho Cemetery.
