Roberta Ann Price

Our loving mother and grandmother, Roberta Ann Price, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of August 13, 2020, in Brigham City, Utah. Roberta was born on July 27, 1926, at the home of her grandparents’ David and Elizabeth Hughes, to Leslie Abraham Willie and Eunice Hughes in Samaria, Idaho. Roberta’s father owned land in Holbrook, Idaho that he and his brothers homesteaded. This is where she spent her younger years playing with cousins and picking plums.

Roberta started school in Holbrook, a one room schoolhouse. When she was in sixth grade, they moved to Malad, Idaho to finish the school years. She would spend summers in Holbrook on the farm. After graduating from Malad High School in 1944, Roberta went to Idaho State University and attended Cosmetology School. Roberta enjoyed doing hair in Malad for many years.

She met Marion J. Price on a blind date, who would later become her husband. Marion and Roberta were married on May 21, 1947. One year later they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they raised 4 children in Malad, Idaho. Her family was her greatest joy. Roberta never missed a birthday or special event. She made beautiful quilts for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Roberta was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed serving in many callings in the church. A day didn’t go by that she wasn’t serving and visiting someone.

After the passing of Marion on April 13, 2014, Roberta moved to Maple Spring Assisted Living in Brigham City, Utah, and she was cared for by her loving daughter, Jana.

Roberta was preceded in death by her father, Leslie, her mother Eunice, her sisters Kathryn, Ruth and Betty, brothers, Leslie, William and David. She is survived by her daughter, Shaleen (Mark) Evans, son, Leslie (Peggy) Price, son, Robert Price and daughter, Jana (Tony) Robinson, and 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
